Ah, North Korea, the World’s Communist trouble child. Where would we be without it.

NUCLEAR:

On the 9th of October, 2006 North Korea, bless, claimed it’s first successful nuclear test. An earthquake, of small enough proportions, was confirmed pretty much confirming it happened.

Three years later, on May 25, 2009, North Korea let off some more steam, by doing more nuclear tests underground. Everyone, including the nations America loves to hate, Russia and China, condemned the actions. Every reporter, ambassador and Figurehead-of-state ran around like a headless chickens claiming a new Korean war and worldwide fallout. What they forgot was, the bombs were the size of the ones dropped in WW2. People are afraid of North Korea’s 65 year old nuclear capabilities. Oh, and they apparently have 6-8 missiles. America has about 9,400. It would be like taking on a tank with a tractor and a pitchfork.

The UN put bureaucracy in action and put more economic sanctions on the troublesome Korean nation. If they were really smart, they would end the food aid to North Korea. But then humanitarians would complain to no end about deliberately starving the North Korean people…who are leaded by a government who are prepared to use nuclear weapons and kill Millions over a peninsula…..yeah, real life preserving actions on the side of the North Koreans.

People are forgetting why the Kommunist Koreans are doing this. Its because Kim Jong Il, the Kin-I mean Premier of the North Koreans is dying, at 68. Which really says alot about the Socialist health care over there. His son, Kim Jong Un (They’re very creative with their names) , is set to succeed the ill Il. Ironically, Kim Jong Un is the youngest son of the illin’ ill. Why is he chosen. Well, his oldest son, Kim Jong Nam (Endless amounts of first names) fell out of favour when he snuck into Japan with 2 lady friends and his son to go to Disneyland.

The other son, Kim Jong Chul, has been described by his father as “a little girl”. Ouch. I mean, it’s one thing for your Dad not to like you, but if your Dad commanded North Korea, and then called you a little girl….well….I would run South.

RE-UNIFICATION:

People are always saying the primary goal of Korea should be re-unification. Which, to an extent, is true. The Koreans are basically one people. For the moment. You see, Korea is going to be united through blood and bombs, nothing else. A democratic re-union can never happen. Here’s why:

If North Korea invaded the South, then America and Japan would respond immediately and soon the Korean border would be a blood fest. However, this time, Russia and China will stay out. North korea is over-run, China puts flippedy thousands of troops on the border, and then Korea is re-united. Sure, another Iraq style hunt for Communist rebels, but overall most of the transition would be peaceful.

If North Korea, under Kim Jong Un, moderates and democracy happens, then a Korean re-union is almost out of the question. The Koreans would never settle on an agreement. The Northerners would want representation and their interests represented, something the South cannot guarantee, or give. Sure, open borders would happen, and then the Koreans are economically united. But, ultimatley, blood will be shed to re-unite Korea, not ink.

INVEVITABLE DESTINY:

There are two eventual destinies for the Koreans. Either, they’re going to stay communist, or have Russian democracy, or go fully democratic like South Korea, going through Russian democracy first.

If the former happens, it means eventual war. China is constantly leaning towards democracy, as is Russia. North Korea is losing support by the year. They’re going to be an isolated state, and then they’re going to be invaded over a diplomatic faux pas. They North Koreans may want a communist Korean peninsula more than anything else, but they’re not stupid. They know North Korea vs. The World means Ron Paul vs. The House (1 – 405).

Democracy will emerge from that war. Or, it will emerge from moderation by one of the successors. All societies are progressive. Even fundamentalists societies, such as Iran, are progressive. Today’s Conservatives are yesterdays Moderates.

A Korean revolution is plausible. The new leader is the result of who the military trusts. To that extent, the generals choose the new Premier. Let’s take the current situation. If the most of the current military supports Kim Jong Nam, and some of it Supports King Jong Un, and Kim Jong Un assumes leadership of North Korea, there will more than likely be a revolution.

The result in inevitable, North Korea will be a democracy how and when is the question.
